External obstacles are no match for my inner strength.

I have the confidence and creativity to find solutions and I take action no matter what challenges may seek to block my path.

My handy tools – affirmations, positive self-talk, and meditation – are like weapons that help me defeat any obstacle.

I use affirmations to help me build effective habits and attitudes.

Good habits make good choices easy and automatic.

Confidence and an optimistic attitude can get me through just about anything.

Using positive self-talk throughout my day boosts my confidence.

Whenever I do something well, I congratulate myself.

When I reach even the smallest goal, I celebrate my accomplishment.

When I make a mistake, I remind myself that I am human and seek to learn from it and move on, unaffected by the delay.

When I come upon an obstacle, I ask myself how this challenge can help me.

When I find a way to continue toward my goal, my positive self-talk encourages me to take decisive action.

Meditation also helps me build my inner strength and instills in me an unstoppable motivation to attain the life I desire.

I envision myself living my dreams.

In these dreams, I also feel the pride of accomplishment that comes only from overcoming challenges.

Overcoming challenges creates a cycle of strength, too.

Seizing a victory over my obstacles makes me even stronger and builds even greater confidence that I can defeat the next one.

Today, I choose to meet my challenges head-on with confidence, creativity, and the can-do attitude that keeps me moving forward.

Gain Strength by Learning How to Overcome Failure

A few years back, Disney released an animated movie called “Meet the Robinsons” that had such a deep impact and meaning.

The point of the story is to celebrate each failure you have because it gives you the opportunity to try again.

Most people make the mistake in thinking that, just because they failed at something, they should just move on.

Or, if they failed it meant they were never meant to succeed at it. Wrong, wrong, wrong!

When you’re trying to accomplish something, failure is actually the best thing that can happen to you.

Seriously! Do you think the light bulb was invented the first time around?

No! In fact, Thomas Edison took thousands of tries to get it just right!

What about the first wheel or the telephone?

Of course it takes multiple tries by multiple people to reach success, but the key point to remember is that you have to fail in order to know that you’ve succeeded.

Real Life Examples of Failure

Think of a toddler learning how to walk.

Although they give a fair share of tantrums during the learning stages, they pull themselves up after each fall and try to walk again.

Instinctively they’re teaching themselves how to perfect the movement all based on their past mistakes or failures. It’s a trial and error process!

People struggling with weight loss often feel like failures when they gain weight while dieting.

Keeping a weight loss journal can help them track their progress and learn to recognize what triggers them to fail.

Perhaps there are emotional or physical triggers that can be prevented.

Learning from these mistakes will teach them how to combat those same problems in the future.

There is another benefit to failing: failure opens doors that will allow you to find out what you’re really destined to do.

This happens in college all the time.

How You Found Yourself Through Experience

Certainly you know at least one person who went to college with the intent of getting one degree and as they went through their course work, having their successes and failures, they discovered a new career interest and changed their major.

Think of a student who went to college to become a nurse but soon realized what they really enjoy is teaching.

The whole reason they were going into nursing was to help educate people to improve their lives and they found the best way to do that is not as a nurse, but as a teacher.

There’s nothing wrong with that!

As long as you’re able to learn from your “mistakes,” then they’re not mistakes at all – they are opportunities for success!

There’s always something to learn from each and every situation and once you understand the lesson, it will make you a better person.

Become Stronger and Wiser

Failure makes you a stronger person. Imagine what it would be like if everything you did always went your way.

Imagine that you were successful at everything you attempted your whole life and then one day it happened… you failed!

You failed so badly that it caused you to lose everything.

How in the world would you deal with that failure if you’ve never had to overcome an obstacle before?

Failing allows you to become more resilient so you can always figure out a way to move forward.

The first wheel may have been square and it moved, but it was wobbly and eventually fell over, but the inventors never gave up!

They began to figure out how to make it rounder so it would roll smoothly. You can do the same in your life!

You can’t give up, you have to pick yourself up and figure out a way to roll forward, stronger than ever!

I get up quickly when I fall. The experience makes me stronger.

I get up quickly when I fall because my strength is determined by my resolve to move forward, regardless of setbacks.

When I am determined to succeed, a simple fall only fuels my drive.

No matter how many times I fall, I wipe the dust off my knees and carry on.

Sometimes in my walk I may stumble, which sets me back.

But a minor stumble may prevent me from falling.

When I stumble I hold on to the lessons that I have learned in the past to help me stand strong once again.

Hope stays with me when I fall because, when I hit the ground, the only direction to go is up.

I can look forward to tomorrow because I will enter the day with new wisdom.

My vision stays close to my heart even if I have to make adjustments to my plans.

I keep my dignity when I fall because my true character is revealed at the lowest point.

Even when I have made a mistake I continue to be an intelligent person worthy of admiration and respect.

Without over analyzing my mistakes I evaluate my actions in order to learn and grow.

I refrain from judging myself too harshly in order to preserve my spirit.

I offer myself the same forgiveness that I give freely to others.

Today, I choose to get up quickly from any falls I may experience.

I learn from my mistakes and become a stronger person, ready to face the challenges of the day.

Fear is no match for my strong spirit and will.

My will and my spirit are stronger than any dart of fear aimed in my direction.

When disappointment strikes, I remain confident in myself because I am certain that great success is within my reach.

Though fear may relentlessly try to come against me, my strong will helps me reject fear over and over again.

I carry on in my journey with a positive attitude because my spirit is too strong to be broken.

I dance through the streets of my destiny to the melody of joy, thanks to the invincible spirit within me.

I can accomplish anything I set my mind to when I am determined. I have written down my goals and my vision in order to stay on track.

Nothing can stand in my way when I have a plan and an unyielding will.

Having a vision is like a telescope that magnifies my opportunities and places the barriers in perspective.

When I look at the bigger picture, I realize that the obstacles I may face are nothing in comparison to the wisdom I will gain.

My spirit is fearless in the midst of new endeavors. Armed with courage, I am capable of charting new experiences for myself.

My strong will and audacious spirit propel me to action even when I hesitate.

Today, I am fearless in the face of the unknown.

I choose to replace discouragement with renewed strength and a desire to work harder in order to achieve more than I ever imagined.

When the going gets tough. I get stronger.

Conviction is my friend. Indifference is my foe.

My beliefs are part of what makes me who I am. My resolve is not swayed by wavering thoughts because my impassioned conviction makes me strong. I am a confident person!

Deep within me, I know what is right for me; I pay attention to these feelings because they help guide me on my path. Doubt cannot shake me because of my internal knowledge of what is right and true. When I feel unbalanced in my beliefs and doubt creeps into my mind, I can go deep within myself through prayer and self-reflection, and I can find truth.

My convictions may not always be the same, but that is because I am fully open to growth. When I listen to the voice of reason within me, I can feel confident about where I am in my life.

Although my beliefs may be different from others, I remain strong in my resolve. I choose not to be closed to new thoughts or possibilities that may strengthen me as a human person – I always will strive to remain open-minded. However, I know – by the gift of discernment – what is right for me and I will live accordingly. I will embrace what is right for me and I will not waste time dwelling on what is not.

Today, I choose to go deep within myself to seek truth, especially when I feel uncertainty, doubt, or indifference. Indifference is not a part of me because I am strong and I am confident and my conviction makes me who I am.
