Time is my life’s currency to spend thriftily on productive tasks, but generously on loved ones.

Work will always be there, but the time with my family is far more important.

As I gaze upon my sleeping infant, my mind rushes me forward in time.

My mind’s eye watches my child beginning school with excited anticipation.

I move forward to the first school dance, the prom, graduation, and then I watch my child begin their own life as they walk down the aisle.

I realize now, as I look upon my sleeping child, that my time with them is precious.

Therefore, I choose to focus my time and energy on what is important – time with my loved ones.

There are certain things that I have to spend my time on.

I have to spend time working to afford the life that I desire for my family.

I have to spend time on routine daily tasks to ensure a clean and healthy life as well.

By using good time management and multi-tasking skills, I am able to accomplish the tasks that need to be accomplished so I can spend quality time with my loved ones.

I strive to organize my time effectively because I love spending time with my family.

I enjoy the times we have to talk and enjoy each other’s company.

I have an attitude that allows me to work to live and not live to work.

Today, I will manage my time effectively so I am able to accomplish my tasks and goals and still have an abundance of time to spend with my family and my loved ones.

I will enjoy my life that is enriched by the time I have with my loved ones.

I will let go of obsessions to work and do less important tasks that will always be there anyway!

I joyfully treasure each moment with my family.

I joyfully treasure each moment with my family because they are the source of my greatest strength and joy.

While we certainly have moments when we disagree, we are each other’s foundation.

No matter where we go in life or what we end up doing, we will always have each other.

We are like a child’s paddle ball.

Our time together infuses us with the energy we need to go out into the world, but the bonds that connect us draw us back, again and again, to renew ourselves for yet another foray.

My family knows me better than anyone else, and they love me for who I am.

They may disagree with me from time to time. Sometimes they are even quite vocal about their disagreements!

But I know that they will always be there for me and that I don’t have to prove anything to them to warrant their love and affection.

My family members are my forever friends.

I have other friends, of course, and treasure them for a variety of reasons.

But I cherish my family most of all and invest the bulk of my attention and energy in them.

Friends and peers come and go, changing with the seasons of life, but family is forever.

I appreciate and acknowledge the love and support I receive from my family.

I would be nothing without the love and support of my family.

My family is not only my support but also the foundation for who I am.

My family is always there for me when I need them.

I am blessed to have such an incredible family.

Daily, I thank God for my family.

I also make it a point to regularly thank my family for their presence in my life and for being just who they are.

I truly feel privileged to have my family’s support in all of my endeavors.

Hearing a word of praise from a member of my family means the world to me.

They cheer me on when I am winning.

My family accepts me when I come up short.

No matter how the game is going, they are always in my corner.

Fame is meaningless to me.

An ovation from a cheering crowd of strangers pales in comparison to the pleasure I get from my family’s admiration.

My purpose in life involves more than mere fame and fortune.

It involves making a difference in the lives of others.

My family pushes me to be my best and to live the best life that I was created to live.

They teach me virtues that will get me to the place I want to be.

When life begins to cloud my view, my family keeps me focused on my dreams.

I treasure my relationship with my family like gold; hard times are the fire that refines that gold.

Going through hard times together strengthens our bond.

Even the moments with my family that I do not wish to re-live have taught me valuable lessons that help me be a better person today.

I fully let go of the desire to change my family. I love and respect them as they are.

Because I recognize that the Creator made each of us unique for a purpose, I let go of the desire to change my family.

I see the beauty in each one of them and love and respect them as they are.

I let go of the tendency to view my children as pawns, put on Earth for my personal happiness and fulfilment.

Instead, I recognize that they are a trust from Above and that they have been loaned to me for a brief time while they develop into their purpose.

While it’s true that loving them and watching them grow brings me great joy, they are not the source of my happiness.

I have a purpose that includes them but extends far beyond them.

They, too, have a purpose that extends beyond me.

I let go of the wish to bend them to meet my desires, knowing that doing so would minimize their potential.

I love them so much that I can release them to find and to be their own best selves.

The same holds true for my spouse.

After years of sharing a roof (a table, a bed, a bank account…), it is easy to forget the appeal of this person I chose to be my partner.

I remind myself, often and consciously, of the qualities that drew me to this person in the first place.

While I value communication and recognize the importance of addressing issues in a kind and timely manner, I focus on finding solutions that accommodate my spouse’s natural character.

This focus is important to me because I recognize and respect the value of that which God created.

Building a Happy, Healthy Family at Home

What a joy it is to feel harmony in our home!

Striving to build a happy, healthy family at home is a very important endeavor, and the rewards are great for those who make it a priority.

Families provide each of us with a sense that we belong, and our families contribute to our individual identity.

A healthy family structure can provide the emotional support to nurture and instill a sense of security in all of us.

Relationships that we share in the family also allow us to develop the morals and basic values that we carry throughout our lives.

This is why it’s so very important that we each strive to have the goal of building a happy, healthy family at home.

Building solid relationships within the family is absolutely essential for the success of each individual in the family – whether young or old.

4 Elements of a Strong Family Bond

All too often you hear stories of dysfunctional families who have multiple problems and just don’t know how to function or communicate with each other.

Surely this is not a scenario you imagined when you started your family!

Rather than risk that path in life, here are some tips for developing a strong family bond:

1. Respect your family members. When it comes to family members, respect should be issued right from the beginning, even if it has yet to be earned.

At the same time, it’s also important that you work to earn the respect of other members of the family.

Respect is simply the process of placing value in the other people who make up your family.

2. Enjoy shared experiences together. The old saying, “A family who plays together stays together,” is very relevant in today’s world.

Sharing experiences helps to build respect.

It also enables you to learn more about the people that you share a home with so you can discover their likes, dislikes, and the things that make them thrive from day to day.

Families should work hard to ensure that they make time to spend with each other – both as a team and with each other on a one-to-one basis.

3. Trust your family. It’s been said that trust is a requirement for all fulfilling relationships, whether in your personal life, social life, or professional life.

If you have respect for an individual and spend enough time with them to know their needs and desires, a mutual trust grows naturally.

Trust is necessary to have open and honest relationships in the family.

4. Learn to give as well as take. Successful families know and understand the importance of the “two way street” that should exist within the family structure.

When every family member understands this, you will all enjoy working and playing together.

Every family member should know and understand their role and work to give and take on an equal basis.

It’s Never Too Late To Start Building a Happy Family

If you currently have discord and contention in your family, you might think it’s too late to rectify the situation.

However, by taking positive steps to make changes as a whole family, you can start to rebuild your trust and respect.

One parent alone can’t make these changes by themselves.

Open communication is critical so the entire family can understand what the current problems are and how to fix them.

You may meet some resistance, but focusing on peace and harmony in the home should motivate even the most stubborn child.

Once your family members get a taste of the happiness and security that a loving family brings to them, they won’t want to live any other way!

When I stare into the loving eyes of my family, I feel the fullness of their love.

My family means everything to me.

They inspire, motivate, sustain and fulfill me.

Our love is unconditional and binds us together in a way that nothing and no one can ever replace.

My loved ones bring out my passion and love for life.

Even their smiles bring me joy that I carry with me wherever I go.

Their ideas, hopes and dreams inspire me as well as them.

They motivate me to be my best.

Out of love for my family, I take care of my emotional and physical health.

Taking care of myself refreshes me and renews my energy so I can take the best care of them.

My family sustains me during the tough times.

They support me in my time of need, and I do the same for them, too.

We are always there to lift each other up when we feel down.

Even when I am perturbed by a child’s misbehavior or we have a disagreement, our love keeps us patient with each other.

My family’s love fulfills me and makes my life complete with a renewable source of happiness and love.

Today, I strive to help fulfill my loved ones’ lives by inspiring them as much as they inspire me.

My priorities are in order.

I invest my time and money on things of substance.

Periodically, I do an inventory of my time to ensure that I am devoted to what is dearest to me.

Instead of waiting for some free time, I make time for what I value.

My life is focused on eternal value, not short-lived pleasures.

Material possessions are fleeting; therefore I focus on my relationships.

I value people over possessions because people are irreplaceable.

Every day, I spend time with my Creator giving thanks for the blessings I have and seeking direction for the future.

I ask for renewed strength and wisdom each morning so I can live my life the way I was meant to live.

My family comes first in my heart, above everything else.

The love I have for my spouse and children is the driving force behind everything I do.

My goal is to make them feel valued by the way I care for them.

Although I am thankful for my career, I realize that my career is simply a tool for me to provide for my loved ones.

I work hard, but my heart always belongs to my family. Time with my loved ones is far more precious than work.

I take care of my body, mind, and soul so I can have the necessary energy to take care of my treasures.

I pamper myself with relaxation activities like spas, massages, and long quiet walks in order to rejuvenate my spirit.

When I indulge in activities that bring me pleasure, I am better able to serve others.

Today, I keep my priorities in order by devoting time to the people in my life.

I reflect on ways to ensure that my priorities remain in order permanently.

My family is my rock.

My family inspires me to be my best.

I want to be an inspiration to the loved ones around me.

My goal is to be a role model for generations yet to come.

I believe that little eyes are watching and imitating everything I do.

I feel a strong responsibility to leave a legacy of hard work and success for all to model.

I am passionate about my family and I devote time to them every day.

Members of my family know how deeply I feel because I tell them constantly how much they mean to me.

I call and email my relatives on a regular basis.

I am grateful for their love and support and my family knows that they, too, can count on me.

My family is the strong foundation upon which all other success is built.

My co-workers know that, while I am devoted to my work, nothing takes the place of my family.

I make sacrifices for my family because they are worth it!

The strength I receive from my loved ones can withstand any storm.

Whenever the waters of adversity rise against me, I know I can count on my family to be a beacon of hope and peace.

Their unconditional love is mine during times of success and hardships.

During times of trials, I recall memories of days spent with my family in order to find inner peace.

A day at the park.

A smile.

A soft, giggly voice.

Dancing in the rain.

A warm hug.

A sweet kiss.

Those are the memories that keep me grounded.

Today, I am making new memories with my family to strengthen our unbreakable bond.
